I conduct a language analysis at the start of the course to find out your key needs and priorities based on your English experience. We agree on your specific goals, work out a plan to achieve them, and review them as we progress.
Over the course, develop your listening and speaking skills and focus on the global English you need in your international role.
Discover how different mother tongues and cultures combine to form the many varieties of English in use today. Learn how to decode them and adapt your listening and speaking skills so that you can communicate with ease.

Unlock Global English uses a recognised three-step coaching approach with live online sessions at its core:
- live session preview: listen to a short audio recording as preparation
- live session practice: meet with the coach, analyse and practise using language from the audio recording
- post-session review: receive session transcripts, personalised feedback and follow-up tasks
Here’s how it works
Materials are designed to work together to help you get the most ouf of your global English course.
- Before each live online session: a short audio file is sent out with a task to prepare for the live session.
- In the live session: related language, pronunciation and culture from the audio provide the basis for speaking practice
- After the live session: you’ll receive follow-up feedback with a transcript and additional materials to review the session.
Each course focuses on three inter-connected elements:
- The sounds and speech patterns of global English which is hugely impacted by speakers’ native languages. This causes many of the misunderstandings between different first language speakers who use English as their common language.
- The different types of English words you need, from everyday conversational language, such as how to politely ask someone to slow down or explain something, to more specialised business words and phrases which can vary according to first languages.
- Cultural influences on language, which are far greater than many people realise. Even seemingly simple polite words like “please” and “thank you”, can send out the wrong signals, even seem rude or impatient, when speakers of other languages follow their own language rules and examples.
